I started my professional career in 1997 with the United States Air Force. I spent eight years as an active duty Aircraft Maintainer where I had the opportunity to work on the B-1B bomber. I spent the majority of my Military career at Ellsworth AFB in Rapid City South Dakota. I fell in love with the Black Hills area and decided to stay when my enlistment was up with the Air Force. From there I followed my true passion in life and became a mortgage loan officer. I was actively investing in real estate during my time in the Air Force so going into mortgage lending was an obvious fit. I have been actively involved in the mortgage industry now since 2005 and have loved every minute of it. I am currently the Branch Manager of Affiliated Mortgage. I grew up in a small town called Lively in the province of Ontario, Canada. After high school and playing hockey at the elite junior level in Ontario, I accepted a scholarship to St. Francis Xavier University and graduated in 2009 with a BA in social/criminal justice with academic All-Canadian honors. My first visit to the Black Hills area was in the fall of 2009 to play professional hockey for the Rapid City Rush. I enjoyed a successful rookie season taking home “rookie of the year” honors and also a league championship. I have spent 6 of the past 7 years of my hockey career playing with the Rapid City Rush. I was born in Wyoming, but mostly grew up in the Southern Hills area (Hill City, and Custer). I graduated high school from Hill City. A fun fact about graduating from Hill City, we were able to do the graduation ceremony and prom at Mt. Rushmore. I then went to college at Black Hills State University. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in political science and sociology. My family and I now reside in Rapid City. I have two kids and a dog. We love to be outdoors in the Black Hills. I have spent my professional career in a mixture of customer service, sales, and government. I was an appraiser for Pennington County for about 5 years.
