McCormick Ranch

McCormick Ranch is to Scottsdale what the Upper East Side of Manhattan is to New York City. McCormick Ranch is one of the fastest-growing real estate markets in Arizona. This master-planned community comprises one of five communities in the Scottsdale Unified School District, two premier resorts, and a variety of residential developments. These things make it a wonderful choice for families who appreciate gorgeous weather, convenient access to shopping and entertainment, and outstanding schools. Mccormick Ranch is located within minutes of the 101 Loop making it easy to reach everything that Scottsdale has to offer.

Surrounded by the stunning Arizona desert, this Scottsdale neighborhood has state-of-the-art amenities including planned parks and recreation areas, as well as great shopping and dining options. The homes in Mccormick Ranch have vibrant, modern architecture and range from sleek two-story contemporary homes to massive Mediterranean villas.

Old Town Scottsdale

Old Town Scottsdale is the No. 1 neighborhood in Arizona for making an urban lifestyle work for you. Probably the most happening place in Scottsdale, it’s loaded with restaurants, shopping, and nightlife (which ranks #1 nationally). The prestigious Scottsdale Quarter shopping center is here with more than 100 upscale retailers, a large-format movie theater, and a beautiful boutique hotel.

Old Town Scottsdale is where you’ll find the highest concentration of Scottsdale homes for sale…from luxury properties to affordable, turnkey homes for first-time buyers. It’s also one of the safest neighborhoods in the city, with a high police presence and nearby Scottsdale Community College.

The housing market here has seen a good amount of appreciation with prices appreciating an average of 10.89% over the last 3 years.

Old Town Scottsdale has also been recognized as one of the “Best U.S. Neighborhoods for 20-Somethings” for its high quality of life and unique downtown. It was also named among the best neighborhoods in Phoenix by AARP The Magazine, Forbes Travel Guide, and Fodor’s Travel.

Central Scottsdale

Located in the heart of Scottsdale, Central Scottsdale offers everything you could possibly need or want. Within walking distance to Kierland Commons, and just a short drive away from the Scottsdale Quarter, you will find everything from two of the finest outlet malls to fantastic shopping at Cartier, Rolex, Louis Vuitton, and more. The best thing about this area is that it is close to all of the incredible restaurants and cafes that our other neighborhoods offer, without any of the hassles of traffic or parking.

Located just north of the 101 and boasting some of the highest average home prices in all of Scottsdale, this area is comprised of gated communities with high-end homes. The schools here are top-notch, yet traffic is minimal and it’s easy to head into the city via the 101 freeway or I-10. While it’s not an ideal area for first-time homebuyers due to price, living here affords you access to excellent amenities and leaves you feeling safe and comfortable in your new home.

Arcadia is actually included in the Phoenix zip code, but its school districts are part of Scottsdale, which is the reason we have added this to our list.

Living in Arcadia gives you the feel of a small town with big city access right at your front door. The city is an anchor of higher educational opportunities and always seems to be on the verge of a renaissance.

Its central location, outdoor adventures, and thriving shopping district are all huge pluses. Public transportation and air travel options aren’t quite as good as in Old Town, but it is one of the easiest suburbs to get around.

A haven for young professionals and families alike, it boasts a thriving city center with exciting new businesses and is quickly becoming one of the most vibrant communities.

Living in Arcadia is like breathing fresh air. Its more manageable size means that you can really get to know your neighbors, which is something that’s hard to do in cities. And it feels greener than most suburbs – this part of Arizona has lots of community gardens and solar installers, making the area a pretty good place to live.

South Scottsdale

We did the numbers and found that south Scottsdale is the best place to live in the Scottsdale area. With each home costing an average of $237 per square foot, making it much more affordable than other areas like Old Town and Paradise Valley.

This neighborhood offers a number of family-friendly activities at its nearby resorts, such as mini-golf, complete with a dinosaur theme, and PGA golf tournaments held there in the winter. With low crime rates and big lots, this area is a great pick for families.

South Scottsdale is a very safe, family-friendly community with a variety of homes and lots. Young families will love the mix of affordable housing choices – available in both new construction and gated communities. Public schools are good and your children can play outside on beautiful grounds– all while living in South Scottsdale.

Living in South Scottsdale offers the best of the culture and weather that we are used to recognizing in the West. It is known as a desert escape, but it is equally a great place for families who are looking to stay for the long haul.

Paradise Valley

With an undeniable synergy between the natural environment and luxury living, Paradise Valley is a highly sought-after location. The beauty of Paradise Valley is matched by the luxury and convenience of its Mediterranean-style homes.

It has a storied history and an impressively long list of famous residents.

Home to many athletes, professional golfers, and musicians, Paradise Valley also has a notoriously expensive housing market, ranked by Forbes in 2014 as the third-priciest zip code in the country. Located near its namesake golf course, the area is also home to some of the most desirable scotch distilleries in all of Arizona.

While it’s definitely expensive, at least there are also some great perks for PV residents including short commute times to major employers such as Agua Fria High School and Fairway Elementary School.

Instead of sitting on a quiet cul-de-sac where everyone waves to each other, homes in this neighborhood are more like estates – huge lots with dramatic mountain views and incredibly modern architecture.

North Scottsdale

North Scottsdale is a vast area, but we have picked two major master-planned communities that suit the classic Scottsdale homeowner, DC Ranch and Troon North. These neighborhoods will get you out of the hustle and bustle of downtown Scottsdale but still offer easy access to everything the city has to offer.

It is hard to describe the beauty of these areas in words, but we will try. Imagine a well-manicured desert landscape that is full of lush cacti gardens, palm trees, and horse farms. Also, consider mountain views and hiking trails nearby. This is how it’s like to live in North Scottsdale.

The Troon North and DC Ranch master-planned communities offer luxury homes, lots of golf courses, huge playgrounds for families, and many lakes. Thousands of families have settled in this region because it offers a country feeling close to amenities like shopping centers.
